Skeleton Leaves...

I created this page for a special lady I know who teaches scrapbooking.  Every year we go on a scrapbook weekend in North Yorkshire and we were tasked this time to create a challenge for each other.  As both of us are big fans of multi media pages and all thing messy I came up with a scrap by numbers page.

I found some skeletonised leaves on a walk and thought it would be great to incorporate these into a page.  I've used gesso and then added colour with inktense crayons and watercolour pencils.
I've added scraps of torn book paper too.
 and some stitching,
and some doodled circles and backgound stamping

A messy heritage page...

Well this is an unusual layout for me as it has a great deal of pink on it!  Being a Mum & step Mum of three boys I very rarely get to explore the more girly colours so I went the whole hog on this one!

My colour choices were inspired by the old photograph of me and my Mum, I had a pale pink babygrow on and my Mum wore a dark green tartan skirt - very 1970's!

I started this layout by spraying a piece of white card stock with some pink and green inks, then applied some acylic paint around the edges and dragged it in towards the centre with a credit card.

I then started to play around with the placement of my photo and decided that the layout needed a frame, so I cut the background down to 11" and sewed it onto a piece of Stampin' Up! text paper.

I love the Melissa Frances frame stamps, I've inked them up in black memento and created frames for the title and date and one in the top right corner to balance the layout.

I applied some goosebumps through a butterfly stencil before applying the acrylic paint.

I tried not to over embellish the layout as I wanted to see as much of the background as possible, so I finished my layout with some Maggie Holmes Crate Paper die cuts and some Studio Calico enamel dots.  Thanks for stopping by, have a fab day!

To infinity & beyond...

I was inspired to create this page by the colours in the photo of my little lad on World Book Day last year.  I'd also seen a layout done by, I think Kim Stewart (nerolisyke), where she had used all her left over alphabet thickers to create a background, so though I would give it a go.

I started with a piece of white card stock and started to stick by alpha thickers onto it.  I then brushed on some white gesso to act as a key for the colour.

I used inktense blocks to apply bands of colour and merged the colours together with water.  I also added some cosmic shimmer spray inks through a stencil.

I kept the embellishments fairly simple by adding a row of buttons, ribbon and twine just down one side of the photo.  I cut the title on my cricut and then embossed each letter and sanded it.
Back later in the week, thanks for stopping by.

Mothers Day Goosebumps

Welcome to my blog!  I scrapbook at night or in the midnight zone as my 4 year old puts it.  He's a cheeky chappy and it's full on during the day so my time comes when he's tucked into bed and I've had my tea and then I can fully absorb myself in beautiful paper, washi tape, sprays, inks and all that is multi media.  The first layout I am sharing is one I made for my Mothers Day album, I thought it would be kind of cool to see the passing of the years for both of us in one album.

I've started out with a a piece of white bazzil basics cardstock and sprayed ont he right hand side with a couple of Cosmic Shimmer Mists.

I've then applied Goosebumps through a mask and then applied more spray, some stamping and some ink through the mask also.

I've die cut some circles from patterned paper and outlined them in white faux stitching.  I've also sewn on some buttons to repeat the circular theme.

I've also made a secret pocket over on the left hand side of the page to keep my card in and other emphera.

Thank you for stopping by, I'll be back soon with another layout
